About the Cabin

The Converse Cabin is a pet project for architect Gary Converse, who was instrumental in designing Portland's KOIN Tower and the Kah-Nee-Ta Resort on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. Converse and his family built the cabin between 1978 and 1983; the whole process is chronicled in a framed photo collage located on the lower floor.

Not a single square foot is wastedfrom the comfortable lower bedrooms to the spiral staircase to the bedroom loft, the Converse Cabin is designed with outstanding efficiency. For over 30 years, thousands of guests have enjoyed the comfort, beauty, and peace that the Converse Cabin providesa fact reflected in the cabin's 4.3/5 rating on VRBO
